Special Collections serves as a valuable resource for information on faculty members and graduates of the Medical and Dental Schools and its predecessors, the Chicago Medical College and University Dental College, American College of Dental Surgery & Northwestern College of Dental Surgery, and the Woman's Medical College. The collections include a wide range of historical materials, rare books, manuscripts, letters, four incunabula, medical and dental art, artifacts, instruments, and equipment.
The Northwestern University Archives, established in 1935, holds material pertaining to every aspect of the history of Northwestern. The Archives serves as the repository for both non-current official University records and a wide variety of other records including the papers of individual faculty members, the records of student organizations, materials pertaining to alumni, publications, photographs, scrapbooks, and artifacts.
