Course-Integrated Library Instruction

Curriculum support

Librarians can work with faculty to integrate information management skills into your course. Contact the liaison librarian for your program to get started.

We can provide:

  • Hands-on sessions
  • Demonstrations in the classroom
  • Flexibility - we will work with your schedule
  • Training in library resources such as literature databases and educational software
  • EBM search skills training
 

Residents and Clinical Departments

Resident and Clinical Department Support

Librarians can help residency programs fulfill information competencies as well as provide information management training to your clinical faculty and staff. Each department or program is assigned a liaison librarian. See which librarian has been assigned to your department or program.

Here are some of the services we can offer:

  • EBM and search skills training and testing
  • Collaboration at departmental meetings and morning reports
  • Journal club assistance
  • Information competencies and outcomes assessment
  • Resource recommendations
  • Resident Reading Lists
 

Researchers and Basic Sciences Departments

Researcher Support

Librarians can partner with basic sciences faculty and researchers to provide timely access to relevant data and literature resources. Contact Pamela Shaw, Biosciences & Bioinformatics Librarian at (312) 503-8689 or email Pam.

The services we offer include:

  • Visiting departments to alert users of new resources
  • Directing users to appropriate resources
  • Creating subject and program based resource guides
  • Assisting with text based search systems
  • Scheduling workshops by experts on the use bioinformatics databases and other research tools
