Library Classes: Genome Browsers

This class introduces users to three major genome browsers available on the Web: Ensembl, UCSC Genome Browser and MapViewer.

Users will learn:

  • where to locate each genome browser
  • how to search for genomic location information in each browser
  • the best methods to find specific information such as exon start sites, side-by-side comparison of different organisms' genome information and finding splice variants
