Stephanie Kerns, Head, Education and Outreach/Curriculum Librarian, was recently elected Chair-Elect of the Educational Media and Technologies Section of the Medical Library Association. Congratulations Stephanie!

Michelle Frisque, Head, Information Systems, guest lectured on "Technology in Health Sciences Libraries" as part of LIS 780 Health Sciences Librarianship at Dominican University in River Forest, IL. This semester-long course was taught by Linda Walton, Associate Director of the Galter Library. Michelle also presented "An Introduction to Cascading Style Sheets" for LIS 753 Internet Fundamentals and Design at Dominican University.

Michelle Frisque was also recently reappointed to a number of positions she holds in the library community, including Chair of the Web Coordinating Committee for the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), for another 2 year term starting at the end of June. She will also be the LITA Web Manager and the LITA Representative to the ALA Web Advisory Council during that same time period. Well done Michelle!

Galter Library staff participated in Bring Your Daughters to Work Day at Northwestern University on April 22. LaShanda Howard-Curry, Library Assistant in Interlibrary Loan, organized library events while Michelle Frisque sponsored a session on "Internet Searching and Beyond", and was ably assisted by Stephanie Kerns.

Linda O'Dwyer, Education Librarian, gave a presentation to alumni on library services available to alums and how to search the medical literature effectively using PubMed, as part of Alumni Weekend programming on April 23.

Linda Walton, Associate Director, organized a day-long workshop on "Engaging Staff in Redesigning Work" on April 19. Consultant Maureen Sullivan encouraged library staff at Northwestern and other area libraries to think outside the box when approaching workflow and workplace issues.
