New Acquisitions Librarian: Anna FlemingMark Berendsen, MLS, m-berendsen@northwestern.edu
Please welcome Anna Allegra Fleming, our new Acquisitions Librarian at Galter Health Sciences Library. Anna joins the Collection Management Team and is responsible for purchasing books, journals, and electronic resources for the library. She is also excited about playing a role in cataloging new materials the library acquires. Anna brings with her a wide array of library-related experiences. Her most recent titles include Custom Licensing Manager and Library Relations manager at the University of Chicago Press where she sold electronic journal content to large academic libraries and library consortia. Prior to that Anna was the Director of Library Services at the Art Institute of California—Orange County, an undergraduate college offering programs in advertising, design, and culinary arts. As Director of a completely new library, she built the library from the bottom up—from developing the collection to delivering reference services. She has also held positions as Reference Librarian at the Leavey Library of the University of Southern California and Grants Information Manager at the Suzzallo Library of the University of Washington. Anna grew up in Venice, California, four blocks from the beach. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading, and gardening. She is a member of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Field Museum. Long before becoming a librarian, Anna worked in the marketing department at the headquarters of Starbucks in Seattle. We can all blame Anna for our caffeine addictions. |
