Meetings, Conferences, and Presentations

Michelle Frisque, Head, Information Systems, attended the American Library Association Midwinter Meeting held on January 19th-24th in Seattle, WA.  Michelle actively serves on the Library Information Technical Association (LITA) Board of Directors and participates in executive board decisions.

Ramune Kubilius, Collection Development / Special Projects Librarian, attended the 26th Annual Charleston Converence: Issues in Book and Serial Acquisition, November 8th-11th, 2006, in Charleston, SC.  She was on the organizing committee, provided an annual trends update for the 6th annual Health Sciences Lively Lunch, and helped coordinate session reporters for the newsletter, Against the Grain.

Jim Shedlock, Director, Ron Sims, Special Collections Librarian, and Ramune Kubilius, are again facilitating the M1 and M2 “Exploring the History of Medicine” 5-week elective seminars.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Ryan Kappes, Technical Support Consultant in the Information Systems department, and his new wife, Erica, on their marriage.  Ryan and Erica were married on November 18, 2006 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
