EndNote X1 is now available

EndNote version X1 is now available to all current faculty, staff, and students with a valid NetID. However, before upgrading you should be aware of the following issues associated with the EndNote X1 upgrade.

If you are a Mac user running Word 2008, do not upgrade as EndNote X1 is not compatible with Word 2008.

If you are a Windows user, you may notice that the Cite While You Write (CWYW) commands either do not appear in Word or they appear but do not function. If this is the case, you need to run the Configure EndNote Utility after you have installed EndNote X1. There are unique instructions for running this utility depending on the version of Word you are running. You can find the correct instructions for your version of Word at this EndNote FAQ.

To download EndNote X1, use your NetID/password to sign in to the E-Academy site and add it to your cart.

A quick clarification: Word 2008 on Mac does not currently work with ANY version of Endnote (not just X1).
