Welcome New Residents and Fellows!
The Galter Health Sciences Library would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and continuing residents and fellows. While we try to make contact with all new interns and fellows at hospital orientations, we may have missed you this year. Did you know that you can access all library resources from both on and off campus? You just need your library bar code and you probably already have one in our system. This is the same bar code as the one on your WildCARD, the university ID that all residents and fellows are eligible to receive. If you don’t have a WildCARD or don’t know your library bar code, just stop by the Circulation Desk of the Galter Library or NMH Health Learning Center.
Use your bar code to create an account for off-campus access to resources and more on the Galter Library home page. When you create an account, not only can you enjoy unrestricted access to library resources, but you will be able to customize your personal library page, so that your favorite journals, e-books, and databases display every time you sign in.
Here are some other useful resources:
- Galter Library Website Tour Video (short overview)
- Learn about GalterLists and why you will want to create your own list
- PDA-Handhelds GalterList (including what you can get for iPhones)
- Resident Reading Lists
- Resident Net
Create your library website account now and start accessing journals, books and more from anywhere. Email the Galter Library or call (312) 503-8109 with any questions.
