Course Reserves Update
The Galter Library recently implemented a new course reserves management system to streamline the processing and filling of reserve requests. The new system integrates with Blackboard so users can request reserves directly from a menu in their Blackboard course site. You can track what you have requested for your class and the status of those requests. You will also be able to copy requests from previous classes into current or future classes.
Course Reserves must be used for copyrighted materials when the item or a portion of the item is reproduced. We also use course reserves to collect required and recommended textbooks together so students can use shared copies. Since e-journals have licensing restrictions and require authentication as an NU affiliate, the library provides a service where we create a custom link for you that is both legal and reusable.
More information about course reserves and how to submit them can be found on our Reserves and Copyright Policies page.
Questions about the course reserves service or copyright should be directed to Kurt Munson, Head of User Services.
