Galter Health Sciences Library has upgraded its printing system including the method by which patrons add funds to their account. Any funds you have on your WildCARD from the old cash-to-card vending machines can be switched over to the new system. Stop at the front desk to learn about transferring funds. Any funds not transferred by January 31, 2013 will be lost.

Users with faculty/staff/departmental copy cards should stop at the front desk for instructions on transferring remaining funds on those cards to the new system.

About the new system

The new print management software includes new card swipe stations, self-managed online accounts, wireless printing, more ways to add funds, and more printer flexibility. The new software will manage printing and photocopying at Galter Health Sciences Library, University Library, Mudd Library, the Math Library, Schaffner Library, and the Pritzker Legal Research Center.

Features of the new system include:

  • Secure, web-based user portal to manage accounts and add funds
  • Secure printing with a four-digit PIN connected to a WildCARD
  • Ability to add funds with credit or debit card, in addition to cash
  • Print from any location on campus to any library printer
  • Wireless printing
  • Ability to track user carbon footprint

As of June 13, 2012, users with a WildCARD will be able to transfer unspent CashStripe funds into a new account at select library locations.  Users who do not have a WildCARD may use their NetID to access the new print system. Users without either a WildCARD or a NetID will be assigned temporary NetIDs at the Galter Library front desk and will pay for print jobs with cash.

See the library's Printing and Scanning guide for full details. We also have a Printing FAQs page that should answer many of your questions.
